Universal Music Group is the largest American music cooperation. It works as a subsidiary of the Paris-based media conglomerate “Vivendi”. It was founded in 1934. They also own Universal Publishing Group, which is the world’s second largest music publishing company in the world. UMG’S global conglomerate headquarters are in Santa Monica, California. Its website is universalmusic.com. Its revenue is $6 billion and it has 6,967 employees.

Sony BMG Music Entertainment was a recorded music company, being a 50-50 joint venture between Bertelsmann AG and the Sony Corporation of America. Sony Music Entertainment, being the venture’s successor, is owned by the Sony Corporation of America. It was founded in March 3rd, 2004. Its headquarters are in New York City, US.
